Already a member of High Option Compass Rose Health Plan

If you are already a member of the High Option Compass Rose Health Plan, you can elect the Medicare Advantage enhanced level of benefits (UnitedHealthcare Group Medicare Advantage (PPO) plan), at any time by calling UnitedHealthcare at 1-844-279-9286, 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. local time, Monday – Friday . TTY users, call 711. You must remain enrolled in the High Option Compass Rose Health Plan to be eligible for the enhanced level of benefits.

Not yet a member of Compass Rose Health Plan

If you are not yet a member of the Compass Rose Health Plan, you must first enroll in the High Option Compass Rose Health Plan (Enrollment Codes: 421, 422, 423) with the Office of Personel Management (OPM) by going online at https://retireefehb.opm.gov/ or calling the OPM Retirement Information Center at 888-767-6738.

Who is eligible to enroll in the plan?

  • You may enroll in the Medicare Advantage enhanced benefits once enrolled in the High Option Compass Rose Health Plan code with OPM
  • You have both Medicare Part A & Part B primary
  • You are retired from the federal government.
  • You are a United States citizen or are lawfully present in the United States
  • You do NOT have End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD), with limited exceptions
  • You complete a telephonic application for enrollment in the Compass Rose Medicare Advantage Plan

What if the enrollment deadline has passed?

If the enrollment deadline has passed, you may not be able to enroll in a plan until the next enrollment period, unless you qualify for a Qualifying Life Event (QLE).

If you are not yet a member of the High Option Compass Rose Health Plan, you must enroll in the plan during Open Season or qualifying event before electing the enhanced level of benefits.

Once you are a member of the High Option Compass Rose Health Plan, you may enroll into the Compass Rose Medicare Advantage Plan any time of the year.

It's important to enroll in Medicare Part A and Part B when you first become eligible, during the Initial Enrollment Period. Medicare Part B requires a monthly premium payment for coverage, which is determined by when you enroll. In most cases, premium rates increase by 10 percent for each full 12-month period that you could have had Part B, but were not enrolled.
