Enrollment Information

If you are currently enrolled in the LSU First Medicare Retiree Plan, no action is required. You will be automatically enrolled in both the LSU First UnitedHealthcare Group Medicare Advantage (PPO) for medical coverage and the LSU First UnitedHealthcare MedicareRx for Groups (PDP) for prescription drug coverage for the 2027 Plan Year.

If you are not currently enrolled and wish to enroll, contact your Campus HR Department during the enrollment period, October 1–November 13, 2026, for assistance.

What am I enrolled in?

Update to: You're enrolled in the LSU First Medicare Retiree UnitedHealthcare Group Medicare Advantage (PPO) and LSU First MedicareRx for Groups (PDP) plans. To learn more about your plan details, review plan benefits and costs.

What happens after enrollment?

If you have chosen not to opt-out of your plan, your employer will send your enrollment information to us. After we receive it, here's what you can expect:

1. We'll review your information and eligibility.
   
2. After you're verified, your application will be sent to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) for approval. Approval may take up to one week.
3. Once CMS approves your enrollment, you'll be sent a confirmation letter and your plan member ID cards.
   
4. Soon after, you'll receive your Member Kits in the mail. It includes details about your specific health plan benefits.
5. Watch for your Annual Notice of Changes, which is mailed to you every year you're a plan member. It describes your benefits, and any changes to them, for the next calendar year.
